Re: Current Events
Dear Cheri:
WHAT'S IN A NAME?
No more falters could Clinton afford
In naming names for Senate scrutiny.
He racked his brain for a dulcet chord
To prevent a sure staff mutiny.
He wanted a pol to seat on the Court,
But Riley and Cuomo said no no.
His choice must be of the upright sort,
Neither far out nor just so-so.
Eco-whiz Babbit seemed an early shoo-in,
His Interior record a green plus.
Then on westerly winds complaints blew in --
With such a good fit please don't muss.
Next from the pack pulled a jurist named Breyer,
Who can wield a pen but not peddle a bike.
From hospital bed to tax-dodge mire,
In the end he was sent on a hike.
Ginsburg will be justice 107,
Her cause equal rights for all women,
Her dough she prefers without any leaven,
And no one can doubt her great acumen.
She'll sail through Senate on waters like glass
Her approval assured by this sooth:
Unlike Zoe, Kimba and Lani, Alas!
Her name is all-American Ruth.
More Later,
David J. L'Hoste
P.S.
One thought might allow reason to pause
Before we tell Clinton good show:
Ruth's spouse is a lawyer who knows tax laws,
And his nearest dearest client's Perot!
